1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us: your name, email address, professional bio, skills, hourly rate, and portfolio links. We also collect data generated through your use of Proposio — including job descriptions you analyze, AI-generated proposals, and win/loss tracking. Standard usage data (IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited) is collected automatically through analytics tools.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to provide and improve the Proposio service, personalize AI-generated proposals to match your professional voice and style, process payments and subscriptions, send important service updates and billing notifications, and analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve our product. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. AI Data Processing
Job descriptions and proposal content you submit are processed by Google Gemini (our AI provider) to generate personalized proposals. This processing is governed by Google's API data usage policies. Proposio does not use your proposal data to train our own AI models without your explicit consent. Your professional profile data (bio, skills, tone preferences) is used solely to improve proposal quality for your account.
4. Chrome Extension
The Proposio Chrome Extension accesses Upwork job page content only when you explicitly activate it. The extension reads job post data to populate the proposal generator and does not run in the background, track your browsing, or access any pages outside of supported freelance platforms. Extension data is processed subject to this same Privacy Policy.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate Proposio: Clerk (authentication and user management), Monopay (payment processing), Google (AI proposal generation), Vercel (hosting and infrastructure), and privacy-first analytics providers. All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements. We do not share your data with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Payment records may be retained longer as required by applicable financial regulations. You may request data deletion at any time by contacting proposioai@gmail.com.
7. Security
Proposio uses industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted database storage, strict access controls, and regular security reviews. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable and proportionate measures to protect your personal information.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. EU and UK users have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to processing. 9. Cookies
We use cookies for authentication (Clerk session cookies required for login), analytics (privacy-first, aggregated analytics only), and user preferences such as theme and language settings. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from accessing your account.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before changes take effect. Continued use of Proposio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
